Products in our home: a hidden health threat

Environmental pollution by hazardous chemicals causes more deaths annually than AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria combined. Experts name not only industrial and transport emissions, polluted water, air and soil, but also the most common products in our homes as sources of exposure to such substances.

However, consumers usually stay unaware about the presence of toxic chemicals in products they use daily. Although numerous studies clearly indicate the presence of toxic additives in plastic products, buyers will not be able to find this information on product labels, including recycled plastic products. This leaves people largely unaware of the potential health risks associated with these chemicals and prevents them from making good product choices.
