About the Project
In the project “Addressing the escalating plastic crisis in five countries of Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia (EECCA),” CSA under the coordination of HEJSupport international organisation carries out a series of tasks that encompass conducting a national inventory, reviewing reports on plastic pollution and alternatives, analyzing toxic additives in products and manufacturing processes, and developing an analysis of the prospects for reducing plastic pollution in Ukraine. Based on the data collected, the organization will prepare and distribute an inventory report and informational materials aimed at various stakeholders.
Special attention should be given to activities aimed at conducting a capacity-building and awareness-raising campaign in the country regarding reuse, recycling, reusability, and disposal options for plastic waste. This includes organizing webinars and national online meetings for key stakeholders, as well as webinars for media representatives.
The materials developed and results obtained during the project play a key role in national decision-making and awareness-raising on plastic.

Denis Pavlovsky, Chairman of the Chemical Safety Aency, and Olga Tsyguleva, Co-founder of the Chemical Safety Agency, present the project “Addressing the escalating plastic crisis in five countries of Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia”
The project begins with vibrant awareness campaigns aimed at educating the public about the detrimental effects of plastic pollution, both physical and chemical. Through media outreach and community events, citizens are encouraged to adopt sustainable alternatives and rethink their plastic consumption habits.
Policy advocacy forms a cornerstone of this initiative. By collaborating with local governments, the project seeks to implement stringent regulations that limit plastic production and usage. These policies are designed to create a ripple effect, inspiring other regions to follow suit and prioritize environmental health.
The impact of this project is multifaceted. Environmentally, it promises a substantial reduction in plastic waste, resulting in cleaner landscapes and waterways. Economically, it creates new opportunities for green jobs and sustainable industries. Socially, it enhances community involvement and raises awareness about the importance of environmental conservation.
In partnership with government agencies, NGOs, and local communities, this project underscores Ukraine’s commitment to a sustainable future. Together, they are paving the way for a cleaner, greener, and more resilient nation.
