NGO Submission to the UNEA Leadership Dialogue

For the fifth session of the UN Environment Assembly several NGOs, including HEJSupport, submit a written statement for the Leadership Dialogue.

We are calling for support for starting negotiations for a legally-binding agreement covering the full lifecycle of plastics and involving civil society organisations, indigenous peoples and other relevant stakeholders, including women, youth and children, and workers.

Furthermore the group is calling on leaders to design and implement COVID recovery plans, which include ways to navigate the silent pandemics of our time, including our daily exposure to toxic chemicals, waste and plastic.
