Expand the Single-Use Plastics Ban

HEJSupport joined more than 60 organizations calling on the Canadian federal government to expand the list of banned single-use plastic by adding new categories. They request Canada include a more comprehensive list of problematic plastics and substances.

The current ban covers only about 3 percent of the plastic waste generated nationwide. To meet this goal, the production, distribution, sale, import and export of problematic and unnecessary plastic must be phased out through stronger regulatory action.
