ECHA has released an updated reference substance package that includes the most recent hazardous chemicals added to the Candidate List. It advises companies to import this package into their IUCLID systems to create SCIP notifications for articles that contain the newly added substances.
When using this updated package to validate the dossier in IUCLID*, users will see a quality warning indicating that the ‘reference substance is not on the Candidate List.’ This warning arises because IUCLID has yet to be updated to reflect the latest Candidate List.
This same quality warning will also be present in the validation report within the ECHA Submission Portal. However, users can still submit their SCIP notifications successfully through the portal for articles that contain the newly added substances.
This quality warning will be addressed in the next IUCLID release, anticipated for May 2025.
The Candidate List reference substances package for SCIP notifications includes:
- Individual reference substance datasets
- A change log of the Candidate List package
- Delta package reference substance datasets
- A list of reference substances
- IUCLID is a software to record, store, maintain and exchange data on intrinsic and hazard properties of chemical substances.
