After an introduction to the key milestones of the SAICM beyond 2020 process, two new concepts were presented and discussed:
New Mechanism of Action: elevation of obligations to progress SAICM
Issues of Concerns (IoCs) in the post 2020 multilateral regime for chemicals
and waste, developed by a group of NGOs, was presented. You can find more information about the mechanism here and in the video posted below.
A Global Minimum Transparency Standard to secure disclosure of hazardous chemicals in all products, as a cornerstone to achieve a clean and safe circular economy.
