Information

Many chemicals used in products can be harmful to human health and the environment, causing acute or chronic conditions, reproductive harm, or even cancer. For example, many consumer products, textiles, and household cleaners contain chemicals like phthalates, parabens, PFAS, or formaldehyde that pose serious health risks. Some chemicals, like heavy metals, persistent organic pollutants (POPs) or endocrine disruptors, can leach from products and accumulate in the environment and the food chain, leading to long-term environmental and health damage. Transparency of information about chemicals in products and the traceability of such information in individual materials and products help assess a product’s entire lifecycle—from production to disposal—and make it more sustainable and less harmful.
